Factory Ursus.

Ursus factory was established in Poland in 1893, 15 Hay Street, Warsaw, three engineers and four businesses. He began producing internal combustion engines, and later trucks and accessories for the Czar of Russia n. In 1930, the Ursus factory in a difficult situation because of the global financial crisis and was nationalized in national schools of engineering (National Engineering Works, PZInż), a Polish manufacturer of weapons and vehicles. 


Then began to produce tractors, tanks and other heavy equipment for the army. During the Second World War, PZInż was transferred to Germany by the Germans and the remains were destroyed. After the war, the Ursus factory was rebuilt and began to produce copies of the prewar German tractor Lanz Bulldog. In 1950, the plant began production in the Ursus tractors Zetor based project.

In 1961 there was a growing demand for tractors from Poland, but the tractors manufactured in the factory Ursus did not meet the needs of Polish agriculture. A bilateral agreement was established between Poland and Czechoslovakia, where Czechoslovakia Ursus parts needed to expand and modernize the plant and in return, Poland will supply the plant with raw materials in Czechoslovakia. The objective was to build common agricultural tractor, when Poland and Czechoslovakia are combined to produce 120,000 tractors a year, as in 1963 Poland was only producing 15,000.
